Hooked On Phonics

I picked up the 1st grade (6-7yr) H.O.P. DVD from our library this past Monday & decided to skip the kindergarten series since Fia is already doing pretty well sounding out medium sized words phonetically (so proud!!:). I will start using these next Monday & I will post updates about this program. It's supposed to be amazing!

For a few months we (mostly my hubby) has been teaching phonics just thru bedtime stories & i think that really gave her the confidence to try reading by herself.

She loved the video!!! - Watched even the levels above what she was reading & I think some of that will stick :) I recommend these because it's hard to teach the differences in sounds (the combination letters that sound different in different words) & they do it in an entertaining way. We'll stick with this level for a while though.
